John the Evang was the brother of James the senior. The son of Zebedee. His mother was called Mary and from the town called Bethsaida by the sea of Galilee. John wad a fisherman. He was cast into a caldron of boilong oil in Rome but escaped unhurt and later died a natural death at Ephesus
